Briefly, this forum aims to offer a platform for ongoing dialogues between Tamil and Intercultural Theatre makers in Singapore with the intention of a deep discourse on ways to improve collaboration and creative expression. More details of the forum can be found in our website at www.agam.com.sg.
We are currently in talks to collaborate with NIE for our fourth installment of Nadagavaathi - a theatre forum to initiate conversations for the future of the Tamil Theatre scene.
The purpose of this annual forum is to serve as a veritable teaching platform for the current and future generations of theatre makers. It will also be a reference source on Singapore's political, economic and social developments to the extent Tamil plays are a reflection of the society in which they are produced and performed. While little of the distant past exists, the transcription will aim to preserve as much of the available materials as possible. In the multi-lingual tapestry of Singapore theatre, this forum is designed to play a crucial role in providing a comprehensive view of the whole scene.
